I want to take this opportunity to thank all those that have supported me throughout the years and more recently those that I have found that shared my vision for every child in this country and beyond to feel loved, to feel safe and to feel worthy. Esther Baker, Jacky Hughes, Jennie Grace, Catherine Higgins and all the panel members of Reflections that have made my hopes come alive.......Alas, however, I can't continue to be a Co-Chair any longer and for the first time in a long time, I must think of my Kids and grandson and my family as a whole, and be there now for them whilst I still have quality time.
It's true that my health has paid a huge part in my decision, and my fellow Co-Chairs have supported me throughout and I will miss their honesty, laughter, sense of humour and friendship.
I am so very lucky to have found peace and closure for my own abuse and if it were a pill, I would give it free to end every individual the nightmare of abuse and the living day to day with the horror that can still haunt every waking moment, but I can't, however, I can send hugs love and humility. I can also wish the very best to all Survivors no matter how much I've disagreed and how much they have hurt me at times, but more often, they made me angry. I can honestly say, I won't miss the attacks on twitter and other social media sites.
I've always been proud to be British, but I don't feel that pride very much these days. Millions are spent on Potholes, mailshots, Animals, MP's and on those who CAN'T and WON'T do their jobs. I am all for helping any worthy charity but there are many that spend more on staff, renting huge colossal offices and who's jobs all finish at 5pm. From the very top to the lower part of the ladder, many have swerved their responsibility to Children of Abuse and Adult Survivors. The list is endless and the chains that hold us back from feeling allowed to be who we are, will be the chains that tie down every single individual, who damaged so many and I hope those chains follow you in death, for I need to believe that they will.
I would love to see a time when the punishment fitted the crime and I sincerely mean this across the board, but I doubt I will. I am very controversial in what I believe and I do believe in Capital Punishment, especially for child killers, terrorists and anyone who holds life as meaning that they got away with it!! I also have no political persuasion but I don't like wishy washy politicians who don't listen to the masses and act on issues for the people. Ok Soap Box now in the bin.
Finally, I must believe in the human spirit and I must still believe in some kind of justice, but until those in authority speak up for the lame and wounded, we must wait, wait wait.
Good bye to everyone and may YOUR God go with you always. Jenny xx
