In this busy life that we all find ourselves living, its not unusual to imagine a life free from work and struggle. Some of us are lucky enough to have a holiday or just get away for a long weekend. Some of us are just caught up with wanting to make money in order to get the finer things of life, but what could be more wonderful that escaping from the hoards and thinking just for a few minutes about abuse.
Its not an east subject, we need to find a quiet few minutes and clear our minds of everyday chores and give a thought to the suffering that is going on in our communities and on home soil. Fifty thousand children are at risk right now! Most deaths result in the under one year olds and unfortunately some toddlers die because of beatings and sheer neglect. Two women die weekly from an abusive relationship and the numbers are increasing.
I'm also not just talking about the female population, young boys, adolesants and young men are all targets of abuse. Imagine it like this, Abuse is now as common as a cold. It infects the young and old, it has no pecking order, no understanding of suffering, no guilt and NO CURE!
You can not cure Abuse, but you can help to try and stop people catching it. Still there is not enough money or facilities for the abused to go to. Surely the goverment should be listening to those who work so hard to try and combat something which is spiralling out of control, but its way down on the ladder of important issues. What is more important than our society that is being terribly damaged.
We live in a Country that has everything compared to many others, and yet we still can't address it, people still shy away from it and people just turn a blind eye.
PLEASE DON'T. I'm not asking you to lift your sword of anger, I'm simply asking for awareness. If you think something is wrong, make a call. I know this is difficult because even I have tried to warn people and I've been ignored. Who knows what the consequences of us NOT acting causes so I plead with you, don't think its foolish or timewasting. Someone could be at risk.
I will be back on Monday, and in the meantime, May your God bless you and keep your children safe.
